The London Bridge Color Guard has made an invasion into Lake Havasu City, Arizona. The vision of founder David Bixby has led to marching events, re-enactments of battles, parade particiation and cannon explosions! Many locals and visitors have participated in events in full uniform and are transformed in character almost the minute they put on the colors!
Lake Havasu City is home to the London Bridge that was dismantled in London England, re-built in Lake Havasu City, and dedicated in 1971. The English Village completes the setting for the London Bridge. See the full history here.
Keeping the English theme alive is a goal that David Bixby wants to achieve to honor city founder, Robert McCulloch's vision. Other British influences include a small replica of Stonehenge in the roundabout at Wheeler park as well as the Shambles VIllage downtown. David says, "McCulloch gave us 90 percent. It's up to us to complete what he satrted."
Plan ahead to participate in your very own battle re-enactment while visiting in the Lake Havasu area.
